![]() ![]() ![]() There are two separate fan speed control systems on the mobo. That advice would put all your fans under automatic control by the mobo, but not quite ideal. That's because all mobos today use the PWM Mode on that header, or at least CAN be configured to do that. So, with no way to know which mobo YOU have, Phanteks advises always connecting their Hub to the CPU_FAN header. Such headers cannot provide the PWM signal on Pin #4 that the Hub MUST have to do its job. ![]() Regarding the use of the Hub, the problem that Phanteks is telling you about is that many mobos today include SYS_FAN headers with 4 pins BUT actually operate them only as 3-pin Voltage Control Mode headers, not as true PWM Mode headers. Otherwise, the only thing I have to ask about is if the HD Audio is supposed to be this loose when connected? I'm guessing it is fine as it is but it's pretty easy to jack it out if the wire gets pulled enough. I also have no idea where I am supposed to connect my EVO 850 SSD drives on the MOBO so I need someone to tell me where it usually goes on a Z170 board. Could someone confirm whether I'm guessing this right? And this is where I think all the SATA connectors should go. My Modular SATA connector for my CPU is double headed. My other question is about the SATA connectors: I don't know whether I am supposed to connect both the SATA 12V Power Input and the 4 Pin Header or just one of the two but if I had to guess, I put in both, need confirmation though. The PWM hub will draw its power from the 4-pin connector, which is limited to a total device consuming 30W in total."
